We only spent one night at Big House in the Little Woods, which was too bad because we had a great time there. David couldn't have been more polite or helpful when we called them, fearing we were lost! They arranged a late check-in time for us, which was very helpful. In the morning we met Gail, who cooked up a storm. The breakfast and coffee were fantastic and the conversation was also wonderful. Our room was spacious (we rented the Bridle Room) and everything was easy to find and use. In addition, Gail had good suggestions of spots to see on our way into Sturgis, MI, our final destination. Assuming we come back through the area again, we will definitely stay at Big House/Little Woods again. Very reasonable prices, gorgeous surroundings, and wonderful hospitality. It felt like home! I would definitely suggest this place to anyone visiting the area. The only caveat is that the walls are a tad thin - it might have been less enjoyable if our room neighbors had children. Shrug. A great time!
Delightful! Dave and Gail were wonderful hosts. The breakfast was huge and delicious. The house and location are lovely. And the Amish buggy ride was a real highlight of our vacation.
We spent our anniversary at the Big House.... It was delightful. Quiet setting. David and Gail were both wonderful hosts. The breakfast was very, very good. (They even gave us recipes) The rooms were tasteful and spacious. The beds featured beautiful hand-made quilts. The Amish neighbors were very friendly and kind. We enjoyed a buggy ride. The showers were modern and clean. Nice snaks in the rooms. The countryside around the B and B is peaceful and calming. Great place to bike or walk or quietly read. Enjoyed the other guests.
